New British Kitchen - Torode and Hardeep's Tour

Cooking combines with culture in this new food show presented by John Torode and Hardeep Singh Kohli. The presenters explore the many diverse communities in multicultural Britain and the wonderful foods we all eat, as well as revealing the best places to eat them and how to create the dishes for yourself.

Over the series Hardeep explores the heartlands of ethnic communities in the UK and their incredibly diverse cuisine. He investigates how British tastes have influenced traditional dishes and the evolution of these recipes as they are handed down through the generations.

Each episode features a different community such as the Polish in Liverpool and the Afro Caribbeans in Birmingham. Hardeep meets a guide who helps him discover the dishes that are unique to that community, meeting the people behind them and discovering howthey’ve evolved since coming to the UK.

Hardeep chooses two dishes synonymous with that cuisine. John Torode cooks the first dish and Hardeep cooks the second, all with the help of their guide. Tasting both dishes at the end, they give their opinions of the meals they’ve cooked.
